Bio

Gionni Blas is a 29-year-old Brazilian actor, visual artist and writer.

“Storytelling is an intimate gateway to exercising empathy”

With a deep passion for the arts since the very beginning, Gionni’s creative path started in the theatre around 2005, where he kept studying and performing as an amateur until seeking professional training in 2014. In the next four years, Gionni delve into academic life, achieving a diploma in acting and a degree in fine arts (performance, videography, photography, drawing, engraving, painting and sculpting).

“Creating art is committing mistakes in question form”

In 2017, he began his professional acting career while studying screenwriting and more acting techniques between auditions and acting jobs.

In 2020, Gionni began his academic and practical studies in television and film production at Seneca College, where he graduated with high honors in 2022.

Writing

“Writing” is a video interview created by Gionni Blas in the first semester of the Broadcasting – Television program at Seneca College, in 2020. Its content was adapted from a poem composed when he first started writing every day, as a creative exercise. Gionni’s intimate relationship with artistic expression through storytelling is explored visually through the lighting, framing and editing of this piece.

Which Windows Did You Open Today?

The following video is a PSA for healthy internet usage created during his program at Seneca College, in 2020. To fill out the premise for a Public Service Announcement production, Gionni reflected on his own struggles – which are also collective – to use technology in a helpful, healthy way during the COVID-19 lockdown, encouraging others to do the same.
